I spent all day fighting with this freakin' router. I plugged and unplugged, started and restarted, set and reset. Nothing worked. There's a place for the wireless to broadcast, but no light. No matter what I did. Finally, when mum got home, I got her to call her ISP. The guy walked me through enabling the wireless, because they just automatically ship out the routers with it disable. WHAT?! Why in the world would you do that, when the way it's set up you can't access the broadcast unless you have the SSID and all from the bottom of this particular router?! I mean, seriously.
Finally, though, I'm online on my own lappy for a change. Thank you, Jesus, for small miracles.

I Just Ran Out of Room...
and I'm too cheap to pay for more space for my photos from Google. I thought about moving this blog here, but honestly I can't be bothered right now with keeping up blogs on two separate sites (not that I'm very good at keeping up with more than this one, and even that... well, you know. You follow.). So instead I decided to take the plunge and make my first blog book. Thanks to my friend Becky, I knew that Blurb does them... so I checked them out.
And I loved them! It was so easy! They imported everything for me, and then I could tweak it. There were lots of choices, and I think it's gorgeous. See for yourself, if you like, right here.
So I think I'm going to just keep doing this every so often, as I run out of room and as I have some spare money. I've already deleted the old posts from my first six months, because really, who goes back and reads those on here? I don't even do that. But in a book, I'll not just have them but actually look at them. I really recommend Blurb, and not just for blog books. =)
(Although I'm going to post this in the place where I ran out of space in my dated photos, it was actually 24 March that all this happened. Because yes, I'm that far behind.)

The Office
Not in the funny UK tv show way, or even the US remake way. Just the plain old everyday way:
This is where I get online, because even though there is a wireless router, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get it to broadcast. And I'm usually pretty good at this kind of stuff. So, instead, I sit here. And use mum's desktop.
It's a hard life, people.

I Hate iTunes
I have spent the entire day trying to get my music from my iPod back onto my lappy. I have been putting this off ever since my other lappy was stolen; I just can't be bothered ripping each cd, one by one. I knew there must be a way to do it, even though Apple says 'No. That can't be done. Unless you own a Mac and bring it in to us in the store. If you're a PC, well, tough luck.' My friend Aleithia had shown me a site a while back when my iPod was frozen where I could get the stuff back onto my computer, in case we had to reformat the dang thing, but I couldn't remember the name of the software. So I searched for programs, and most of them want oodles of money. I'm not paying for this. I finally found SharePod, which is free (and the one Aleithia showed me before), but it's been a bear. It worked at first, and then seemed like it worked, and then didn't work at all. I ended up having to take EVERYthing music related off my computer (all songs, all media players, everything) and then reinstall them all. What a headache! But finally, it all works. And I have all my music pretty much where I want it. Now Paige and I had better share our stuff like we planned, because otherwise I've gone through all this trauma for next to nothing....
I was working on my corrections during all this, but not very productively. Oh well.

Last Legs
I use my iPod a lot. Pretty much every day. Sometimes all day. It gets shoved in my pockets or my bag, the earphones cord wrapped around it, and pulled out and put back and pulled out again. Those earphones take the brunt of the beating. Today, sadly, I think my current pair are on their last legs.
They always short out there, at the point where the bendy bit is. Now I can only get one side (the left) to have sound consistently. To get anything out of the right side, I have to hold the cord in precisely the right spot. Which changes sometimes even as I hold it. I'm sad. Now I have to find a new pair of perfect earphones. That's no easy quest.
Oh well.

C'mon, Now...
Why is it that I have so much random trouble with technology?
Grace has been giving me a wee bit of trouble today. My taskbar keeps disappearing. For no reason that I can tell. It's locked, so it shouldn't go away. It's not set to hide automatically. And when it disappears, there is absolutely no way I have found to get it back, short of restarting. Which is annoying.
At least I have a computer, I guess. Bah.

Hahahahahahaha. Of Course.
We got a new dvr box! This is good, because we haven't been able to watch tv in months because the old one had major problems. It's bad because it means they just replaced the old one rather than fixing it, taking all our recorded shows with it. Sad times. So much I wanted to see... *sigh*.
The funny thing is, we've only had this one a couple of days. Like, two days. And guess what? The display is broken! Hahahaha. We don't know what's going on with it. It's all scrambled. So the box works, we can watch things and all, but it's going back. Because it's brand-spanking new. There is no way it should already be flippin' out on us.
I hate Humax. =P

It's a Name for a Girl... It's Also a Thought That Changed the World
Thank you, U2. It's also the name of my new laptop.
So the insurance wouldn't cover my laptop, because I'm a renter, despite the fact they told Kenny a couple of years ago that I would be covered since I'm not on a contract as an official lodger. Stupid racket, insurance. Luckily, Kenny's laptop (old and broken, not new one--he had that one with him) was stolen as well. So he claimed for it, and gave me the new one they sent. Grace indeed! Thank you, Kenny. =)
