Merry Christmas!

I spent Christmas in the Bridge of Don with Lynch and the McGarrys, and we went out to play in the snow.  Good times were had by all.  Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Especially Dangerous After Drinking...

I spent the evening with Lynch in BoD, which, of course, included enjoying wine and such.  I had enough to be a bit tipsy, which made walking down the completely frozen path a little more dangerous than usual.  I didn't fall, but I did laugh at myself quite a few times.  I ended up on the soggy grass more than once, because I figured muddy boots was better than a busted bum.

Let It Snow?

Today is Thanksgiving.  And there is a ton of snow on the ground! It's pretty well been snowing off and on since Monday, but this is getting ridiculous.  It's too dang early for this much snow... and they say it's going to keep up for at least a week.  Where am I?!

Honestly, though, if it's going to be cold, I'd rather it snow.  So as long as I don't have to be out in it, I'm quite happy.

Thanks, McGarrys, for Thanksgiving hosting!

Old Testament Times

Lynch had a theme party tonight centred on the Old Testament.  We had verses on the walls, and some verses to back up the food choices, and we all had to come in costume.  It was great!  I love theme parties, and I love fancy dress.  Here is the gracious hostess (I'm sure you can guess what she dressed as!):

Swingin'

I love swinging.  And the song 'Swingin' was a favourite when I was a kid.  My best friend Emily and I would stand on either side of the double bench-like swing on the swing set, and get to going higher than the bar while belting it out.  Good times.

I also love taking kiddies to swing.  There is something about it that just makes everyone happy.  Today I got to enjoy nearly an hour of pushing El Nino in the park, while Liz and The Boy played around with the ball and on the climbing toys.  It was good times.  I took loads of swingin pictures... there's just something about kids in swings that I can't resist.  =)

The Aftermath

This is a sign of a very good Friday night....

Coffee.  Wine.  And milk shaks.  With Lynch.  If only every Friday night were this good!  =)

Because I'm The Doctor

Lynch had a girlie night at her hoose tonight, because her flatmate was out of toon.  I was required to bring deviled eggs and Apples to Apple, and I complied with the request.  In return, I was granted special status:

I'm saying it's congratulatory, not because I drink a lot.  Of course.

Thesis-Writing Day-Retreat

Lynch is currently house-sitting for two families in the BoD, so we had a writing day retreat at one house.  Honestly, I didn't get much done.  But then again, I hadn't seen another person for days... and there was wine!  And food!  And wine!  Oh wait.  I mentioned that already.

These are the bestest wine glasses ever.  You can fit like half a bottle in one glass.  That's my kind of serving.  =D

Waiting...

I spend a lot of time at this bus shelter, waiting on First buses to come and take me back into the city centre from the Bridge of Don.  This one was about 10.30 at night.

I had met Brian for the final time this afternoon (he's out of town for the next three weeks, and I'm submitting by the time he comes back), then went to Liz's office for a while, and then we headed out to BoD for an Ashvale treat (fish 'n chips, with a voucher!).  We spent the evening at her place, eating and drinking and catching up.  It had been two weeks since we'd hung out, and that was far too long.  It was a great evening.  Til I had to wait almost an hour for a bus that was due long before it showed up.  But I had a nice conversation with another man waiting as well, which was a bonus.  That doesn't usually happen.  Usually it's the creepy drunk men that want to talk.  *shudder*
